TASHKENT - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Wednesday in Tashkent he was very pleased with the results of his visit to Uzbekistan and highlighted the significance of a joint declaration signed by the two countries, noting that he expected advancement of bilateral cooperation in all areas.
"I am very pleased with the results we have achieved so far. Yesterday, we signed a joint declaration on future cooperation as well as several documents that will be the foundation of our future cooperation. I hope that, after the intergovermental commission meets in Uzbekistan, we will have an opportunity to host President (Shavkat) Mirziyoyev in Belgrade to further advance our cooperation in all areas," Vucic told reporters during a visit to the Centre for the Islamic Civilisation in Tashkent.
Asked by a reporter how he would begin a report from Uzbekistan if he was still a journalist, he responded that he would urge Serbians to visit Uzbekistan.
"I would tell all my compatriots: 'Dear people, I made a big mistake by not visiting this country sooner. Come to see it as soon as possible," Vucic noted.
