Vucic: Serbia committed to strengthening cooperation with Cuba

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic received the credentials of new Cuban Ambassador to Belgrade Pavel Orencio Diaz Hernandez on Monday, noting that Serbia was committed to developing further the friendly relations between the two countries.

"With Ambassador Hernandez, I exchanged views on further strengthening of bilateral relations, which have gained a new impetus following a visit to Serbia in 2023 by Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canelo Bermudez, whose greetings he conveyed to me today," Vucic wrote in a post on his buducnostsrbijeav Instagram account.

Vucic noted that he had highlighted to the ambassador Serbia's sincere commitment to further strengthening of the traditionally friendly ties, as well as to stepping up political ties and economic cooperation.

"I reiterated the gratitude for Cuba's principled position on Serbia's territorial integrity and expressed the belief that, in the coming period, as countries whose diplomatic ties have been in existence for more than a century, we will have an opportunity to make the cooperation more concrete through numerous projects of mutual interest that will be to mutual benefit," Vucic posted.
