BELGRADE - Secretary General at the Serbian MFA Dusan Kozarev met with Iran's newly-appointed Ambassador to Belgrade Mohammad Sadegh Fazli on Friday to discuss advancement of bilateral cooperation.
Welcoming the ambassador, Kozarev wished him success in his post and expressed the hope joint efforts would help to strengthen the ties between the two countries, the Serbian MFA said in a statement.
The parties agreed that bilateral relations were good and characterised by a high level of mutual respect.
Kozarev thanked the ambassador for Iran's principled position regarding Serbia's territorial integrity and sovereignty and noted a commitment to consistent respect for international law.
He informed the ambassador of Serbia's economic growth, highlighting the fact that the national economy has tripled in the past 15 years and that Serbia had obtained an investment-grade credit rating, as well as plans for EXPO 2027 Belgrade.
The parties noted that, in the wake of good practices in culture and education, including awarding scholarships for studying in Serbia, there was a shared interest in advancement of other forms of cooperation as well, especially in the economy and trade.
