BELGRADE - Secretary General at the Serbian MFA Dusan Kozarev met with Egyptian Ambassador to Belgrade Ahmed Salama Soliman on Tuesday to discuss bilateral topics and modalities for stepping up cooperation in all fields.
"Noting the historically close ties, mutual understanding, and friendship nurtured by Serbia and Egypt since the era of the Non-Aligned Movement, Kozarev and Ambassador Soliman discussed bilateral issues and modalities for further intensifying cooperation across all fields," the Serbian MFA said in a statement.
"They highlighted the dynamic political dialogue and the visits that have taken place to date, with particular emphasis on the additional bond provided by the personal relationship between President Aleksandar Vucic and President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
Economic and trade cooperation and the related potential were also in focus, especially in light of the Free Trade Agreement concluded between the two countries.
The interlocutors identified opportunities to strengthen ties in the areas of defense, security, tourism, culture, sports, and information technology, and positively assessed the World in Serbia programme in the field of education.
They also discussed networking between the ministries of foreign affairs and diplomatic academies, with the aim of exchanging knowledge and experience among young diplomats.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review current geopolitical issues as well, including developments on the African continent, in the Middle East, and in the Western Balkans," it also said.
