BRUSSELS - EU spokesperson Peter Stano said Tuesday's meeting of the chief negotiators of Belgrade and Pristina would address the first steps in implementation of an agreement reached by the two parties.
At a press briefing in Brussels, Stano said only implementation could make the agreement work and help both parties to get out of the present situation.
He said the parties were expected to make a contribution and create an atmosphere of normalisation and reconciliation, as well as to quickly deliver on commitments undertaken in Brussels and then also in Ohrid in mid-March.
Stano said both parties had committed to refrain from any actions that would have the opposite effect on the atmosphere needed for constructive engagement and reconciliation.
He said he hoped recent developments in Kosovo-Metohija would not impact Tuesday's meeting and added that the parties were expected to work seriously on implementation of agreements.
