BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic met with a delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Monitoring Committee in Belgrade on Monday to discuss current issues in the field of the electoral process, with special emphasis on implementation of relevant international recommendations and further advancement of the institutional framework.
The meeting also addressed the cooperation with the Venice Commission, as well as the significance of transparency and trust in the work of competent institutions, the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia said in a statement.
The significance of continuing constructive dialogue and cooperation with the PACE with the aim of strengthening democratic standards was highlighted as well.
The delegation, which is on a two-day visit to Belgrade, also met with members of the parliamentary committee on constitutional affairs and legislation, as well as with the Serbian parliamentary delegation to the PACE, and was also due to meet with representatives of the parliamentary groups of the ruling coalition, as well as with representatives of opposition groups.
