BELGRADE - Speaking to reporters after his party's consultations with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Justice and Reconciliation Party leader Usame Zukorlic said on Friday the party was always ready for elections, especially when there was a consensus on that, but that all circumstances that were ahead needed to be considered.
"What needs to be taken into account is that the situation in the world today is by no means harmless. In the conversation with the president, we realised that all circumstances that are ahead of us in the state and the society need to be considered," Zukorlic said, adding that the meeting with Vucic had been constructive.
He also said the Justice and Reconciliation Party was pro-European and that it stood firmly on Serbia's EU path regardless of the challenges ahead.
"However, we added that we want, and seek, better relations with neighbouring countries in the region, that we seek better relations and place particular focus on the relations between Belgrade and Sarajevo. That is especially important for Bosniaks living in Serbia, but it is also enormously important for overall stability and the future of our nations," Zukorlic said.
He added that projects in the Tutin, Sjenica, Priboj, Prijepolje, Nova Varos and Novi Pazar municipalities in southwestern Serbia had been discussed as well, with special focus on a motorway that would pass through the Sjenica municipality.
