BELGRADE - Serbian PM Ana Brnabic met with a group of US senators on Thursday to discuss deepening and development of bilateral economic and political cooperation, relations in the region and other areas of mutual interest.

The parties agreed that full implementation of the Brussels Agreement was extremely important not only for continuing the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, but also for ensuring sustainable stability and peace in the region.

Brnabic reiterated that Pristina had not only not fulfilled agreements but that the so-called Kosovo administration had suspended a good portion of rights pertaining to the province's Serbs under the agreement, said a statement released by Brnabic's office.

"Pristina has had over a decade to implement the Brussels Agreement but has instead been working actively against it in the past two years, as also indicated by the fact that Kosovo-Metohija Serbs have been banned from voting in elections," Brnabic said, noting Pristina's refusal to form a Community of Serb Municipalities.

The parties said economic and business cooperation was at an all-time high and that the IT sector had a special place in it but that there was certainly more room for improvement.

They also agreed there was additional potential for cooperation in the energy sector.

The senators extended condolences over the tragic events in Serbia and noted that responsible measures taken by authorities in terms of a surrender of illegal firearms had already produced excellent results.

In the government building, Brnabic met with Senators Chris Murphy and Gary Peters and US Ambassador to Belgrade Christopher Hill.
