BRUSSELS - The EU special envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Miroslav Lajcak announced on Sunday evening he was working on preparations for the next meeting of representatives of Belgrade and Pristina at technical level.

"As the end of another long and productive week approaches, I reflect on the positive start I had in Dubrovnik, where I participated in the annual Dubrovnik Forum," Lajcak wrote in a Facebook post, recapping last week.

He said the forum had provided a great opportunity to engage with key actors from the Western Balkans and beyond and reconnect with colleagues and friends to discuss the necessary steps for de-escalation in the north of Kosovo-Metohija.

"From Dubrovnik, I traveled to Bratislava, where I held important bilateral discussions with the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Kosovo Government and the Kosovo Chief negotiator Besnik Bislimi. Our conversation focused on de-escalating the situation in the north of Kosovo, in line with the EU27 statement from June 3, and working towards implementing all Dialogue agreements. I’m glad we agreed on first steps towards this goal," Lajcak added.
