BELGRADE - Serbian Deputy PM and Defence Minister Milos Vucevic met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in Cairo on Tuesday to discuss strengthening of bilateral cooperation and convey Serbia's gratitude for Egypt's consistency and unchanged position on the Kosovo-Metohija issue.
Political relations between Serbia and Egypt are traditionally good, friendly and represent a partnership, and the two countries are connected by historical ties spanning over 115 years - for that reason, Serbia intends to maintain and advance them constantly, the Serbian Ministry of Defence said in a statement.
Vucevic, who is on an official visit to Egypt, thanked El-Sisi for a cordial welcome and an opportunity to discuss not only defence cooperation but also advancement of overall relations between the traditionally friendly countries.
Vucevic conveyed to El-Sisi the cordial regards of Serbian President and Serbian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Aleksandar Vucic and stressed that the notably friendly relationship between the two presidents had contributed to a strengthening and development of overall bilateral cooperation, especially in defence.
