Vucic meets with Ohio National Guard commander

BELGRADE - At a meeting with Ohio National Guard Commander Maj-Gen John Harris, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic noted Serbia was committed to strengthen its overall relations with the US and that years of successful cooperation with the Ohio National Guard strongly contributed to that.

Through a state partnership programme, numerous projects in military cooperation as well as economic and business projects have been launched or carried out, a statement released by the presidential press office quoted Vucic as saying.

Vucic said Serbia-US economic ties were intensifying continuously as a result of an increasing inflow of investments by US companies, growing trade in goods and, in particular, services, as well as major financial support through various development aid programmes.

Vucic said the US was one of the leading foreign investors in Serbia.

Harris said Ohio's partnership with Serbia was one of the ways in which the US was demonstrating its commitment to cooperation with the country, and made concrete suggestions for advancement of the cooperation.

The parties also discussed various regional and global affairs.
