Dacic meets with Iraqi parliament speaker

BELGRADE - Serbian First Deputy PM and FM Ivica Dacic met with Iraqi Parliament Speaker Mohammed Al-Halbousi in Belgrade on Tuesday.

Welcoming Al-Halbousi, Dacic noted the significance Serbia attached to its relations with Iraq, based on traditional friendship, mutual trust and solidarity between the two peoples, the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

In turn, Al-Halbousi noted the significance Iraq attached to cooperation between the two countries and underscored Iraq's support to the territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia.

During the meeting, the parties agreed that intensifying political dialogue would lend a new impetus to development of overall bilateral and multilateral cooperation and further deepen the ties between the two friendly states and brotherly peoples, the statement said.
