Djokovic loses to Opelka in Brisbane quarter-finals

BRISBANE - Serbia's top-ranked tennis player Novak Djokovic has failed to qualify for the semi-finals of the Brisbane ATP tournament after losing 7-6 (8-6), 6-3 to American Reilly Opelka on Friday.

World number 293 Opelka, who won after an hour and 39 minutes of play, is now 1-0 head-to-head against Djokovic, who ranks seventh in the ATP rankings.

Opelka will next face Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard.

Jiri Lehecka will play Grigor Dimitrov in the other semi-final tie.
