BELGRADE - The Serbia men's national water polo team has won the European Championship by defeating Hungary 10-7 (3-2, 2-3, 2-1, 3-1) in the final on Sunday.
In front of around 13,000 supporters at the Belgrade Arena, Dusan Mandic led the scoring for Serbia with four goals, Nikola Lukic netted twice, while Vasilije Martinovic, Nemanja Vico, Djordje Lazic and Radomir Drasovic each scored one goal.
Serbia goalkeeper Milan Glusac produced an excellent performance with 11 saves.
Milos Cuk missed the final due to a virus.
Vendel Vigvari stood out for Hungary with three goals.
Serbia won its first European title after eight years and its ninth in the history of European championships.
Greece won the bronze medal by defeating Italy 12-5.
