Red Star beat Vojvodina on penalties to lift 30th football cup trophy in club history

LOZNICA - Red Star Belgrade beat Vojvodina Novi Sad 5-4 on penalties in the final of the Serbian football cup on Wednesday night to lift the 30th national cup trophy in club history after the match ended 2-2 following extra time.
Red Star won the sixth consecutive double - their 16th in club history.
Vojvodina took the lead in the second minute as Kornel Szucs headed the ball home after a Njegos Petrovic corner and Milutin Vidosavljevic made it 2-0 in the 35th minute.
Red Star pulled one back in the 54th minute, when Marko Arnautovic scored following a Nair Tinkizyan cross, and Rodrigao equalised six minutes into second half injury time.
In the penalty shootout, Red Star goalkeeper Matheus saved a spot kick from John Mary to hand his team the win.
