TOLUCA - The Serbia men's national football team lost 5-1 to Mexico away in a friendly match early on Friday.
In front of 30,000 spectators in Toluca, Serbia took the lead through Petar Stanic in the 19th minute, but Johan Vasquez (34 min), Stefan Bukinac (45+2 min OG), Raul Jimenez (57 min), Adem Avdic (72 min OG) and Luis Chavez (90 min) provided the goals for Mexico.
Serbia, who recently lost 3-0 to Cabo Verde in a friendly game in Lisbon, next face Greece in the UEFA Nations League on September 24.
Mexico, a co-host of FIFA World Cup 2026, will play South Africa, South Korea and Czechia in the competition's Group A.
