Mitrovic scores hat-trick to hand Serbia away win over Lithuania

KAUNAS - The Serbia men's national football team defeated Lithuania 3-1 in a EURO 2024 qualifying match in Kaunas on Sunday evening.

Striker Aleksandar Mitrovic scored a hat-trick for Serbia after netting in the 21st, 32nd and 43rd minute following assists by Filip Mladenovic and captain Dusan Tadic.

Gitis Palauskas scored the only goal for Lithuania in the 45th minute.

Mitrovic, who is already the all-time most prolific scorer for Serbia, took his international goalscoring tally to 55.

Serbia and Hungary are on top of the Group G table with 10 points each, Montenegro follow with eight and Bulgaria and Lithuania have 2 points each.

Serbia play Hungary away on October 14 and host Montenegro on October 17.
