BELGRADE - Serbian football powerhouse Red Star Belgrade have sacked head coach Barak Bakhar following Wednesday's 2-1 Eternal Derby defeat to arch-rivals Partizan.
Bakhar will be succeeded by former Red Star boss Vladan Milojevic.
Despite major investments in transfers, Red Star failed to secure a berth in the knockout stage of European competitions under Bakhar's stewardship, winning just a point in the Champions League group stage.
They are now a point adrift of Serbian Superliga leaders Partizan.
Milojevic will be unveiled on Friday afternoon.
In the 171st Eternal Derby, Bibras Natcho put Partizan in the lead in the 41st minute by converting a VAR penalty following a Milan Rodic foul on Arandjel Stojkovic and Mateus Saldanha made it 2-0 in the 66th minute, while substitute Cherif Ndiaye scored the only goal for Red Star in the 71st minute.
