Mihajlovic: Turkey's Eximbank wants to invest in Serbia

Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic on Friday met with Enis Gultekin, president of Turkey's Eximbank, to discuss cooperation in the field of infrastructure projects and investments in Serbia.

BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic on Friday met with Enis Gultekin, president of Turkey's Eximbank, to discuss cooperation in the field of infrastructure projects and investments in Serbia.

Serbia and Turkey maintain excellent bilateral ties, as demonstrated by the friendly relationship between their presidents, Mihajlovic said, adding that there was ample room for cooperation.

According to a statement from her office, Mihajlovic said Serbia was already cooperating with Turkish companies on several major infrastructure projects concerning road transport - above all, the construction of a Belgrade-Sarajevo motorway and a reconstruction of a Novi Pazar-Tutin route.

Gultekin said Eximbank was interested in investing in Serbia and would initiate a meeting of Turkish and Serbian businesspeople.

"We see that Serbia is developing at an accelerated pace, we want to back projects in your country and we are interested in discussing the terms of financing," Gultekin said.
