TASHKENT - Serbian Deputy PM and Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarovic on Friday continued a working visit to Uzbekistan with a meeting with Uzbek Deputy PM and Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Jamshid Khodaev.

In an Instagram post, Mesarovic wrote it had been one of the most constructive meetings during the visit.

"We defined a precise agenda of upcoming activities aimed at strengthening bilateral trade and increasing the number of investments in several industries, wherever there is potential for mutual cooperation and achieving a higher volume of bilateral trade. The key topic we discussed was establishing a preferential trade regime for a group of products with the greatest potential, in order to make both Serbian and Uzbek products even more competitive," Mesarovic wrote in the post.

She added that the meeting had highlighted Serbia's major competitive advantage resulting from FTAs and access to preferential markets, which she noted positioned Serbia as a gateway to many other countries.

For that reason, the meeting addressed new Uzbek investments in Serbia, she noted.

Mesarovic added that she expected Khodaev and a large Uzbek business delegation to visit Serbia soon.
