Vucic: Norway meetings have brought development of friendship, trust

TRONDHEIM - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Tuesday all of his discussions in Norway, in particular with King Harald V, Crown Prince Haakon and PM Jonas Gahr Store, had brought additional development of friendship and trust between Serbia and Norway.

"I am glad that Norwegian partners want to work with us and that we have learned a lot. All discussions have brought additional development of not only friendship but also trust, and I am confident we will know how to make use of that," Vucic told reporters in Trondheim.

By investing in new technologies - in which Norway can help us greatly - we are, in fact, changing ourselves and opening up possibilities for new investments because new companies want to use renewable energy sources, Vucic said, adding that companies refusing to rely on renewables would become uncompetitive due to additional taxes.

"That is why it is important that we keep up with the world, rather than lag 30 or 40 years behind and pretend we do not understand anything. We must be open to the world and learn, and I am proud of everything we have been able to learn here in Norway," Vucic said.
