BELGRADE - Serbian PM Djuro Macut met with Norwegian Ambassador to Belgrade Kristin Melsom on Tuesday and said bilateral political relations between the two countries were good but that there was space to deepen the cooperation in many areas of mutual interest.
Macut noted that Serbia was interested in stepping up further the political dialogue with Norway at high and the highest level, a government statement said.
Speaking about economic cooperation, Macut said Serbia was committed to strengthening it further, but that there were still untapped possibilities in some areas, such as the energy sector.
He added that energy had become a priority area of the bilateral cooperation with Norway, especially when it comes to its expert support in the process of Serbia's energy reform.
The PM noted that EU membership was Serbia's foreign policy priority and strategic commitment and thanked Norway for its readiness to help Serbia to harmonise its standards and regulations with those of the EU.
Melsom said bilateral relations were good and characterised by years-long friendship and understanding.
