BELGRADE- Aleksandar Vucic, who heads the Aleksandar Vucic-United Serbia electoral list for the October 25 early parliamentary polls in Serbia, said on Friday he expected more than four million voters to cast their ballots, taking the turnout to 63-64 pct.
The higher the turnout, the higher the support for the United Serbia list will be, Vucic noted.
"We will defeat them (the opposition) in Novi Sad. In Belgrade, the margin will be 20,000-30,000 votes," Vucic said in an interview to Tanjug Editor-In-Chief Jovana Joksimovic en route to Novi Sad for a pre-electoral rally of a Serbian Progressive Party-led coalition.
"We conduct surveys every day. We have a rolling sample, as you know, and we add a 1,200-participant sample every day, and make our conclusions based on three consecutive days. So we literally know the exact number," he said.
He said that, according to figures from the surveys, 4,050,000 to 4,090,000 voters would turn out in the elections.
Commenting on claims by his political opponents that his list would lose the elections if the turnout exceeded 64 pct, he said that, on the contrary, the advantage of United Serbia would be even greater.
"I have been telling them the truth all along. They know nothing about it. They do not like to hear what is realistic. They have their own (figures). The margin is so big that they can be saved only by me not being around anymore or by I do not know what happening," Vucic said.
