Vucic receives farewell visit from Norwegian ambassador

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic received a farewell visit from Norwegian Ambassador to Belgrade Jorn Eugene Gjelstad on Wednesday, thanking him for contributing to the advancement of comprehensive Serbia-Norway cooperation through his committed diplomatic work.

"I thanked Ambassador Gjelstad for contributing through his committed diplomatic work to the advancement of comprehensive cooperation between Serbia and Norway, a country with which we cherish a traditional friendship and a firm partnership in many areas of significance to Serbia," Vucic wrote in a post on his buducnostsrbijeav Instagram profile.

Vucic noted that Serbia-Norway ties had gained special momentum during Gjelstad's tenure and that Norway's huge experience in many fields, especially in modernisation of the energy system, had been invaluable to Serbia.

"I wished the ambassador much success in his further work, and I am confident he will have nice memories of Serbia," Vucic added in the post, which also included photos from the meeting.
