Vucic: 2028 UEFA Europa League final to be played at National Stadum in Belgrade

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Wednesday the National Stadium was due to be finished by December 1, 2026 and that an agreement had been reached for it to be the venue of the 2028 UEFA Europa League final, and noted that it would be one of the three most beautiful stadiums in Europe.

"I would like to thank UEFA for a lot of things. The 2028 Europa League final will be played in Belgrade at the National Stadium," Vucic said while inspecting preparatory works to build the EXPO 2027 complex and the new stadium.

"We will let the people choose the name (of the stadium). We will let them vote, they are smarter," he said.
