Serbia has population of about 6.7 million, census reveals

BELGRADE - Serbia has a population of 6,690,887, according to the first results of a 2022 census of the population, households and housing, released on Wednesday.

Compared to the previous census, the figure is lower by 495,975, or by 6.9 pct.

At the presentation of the census results, the head of the national statistical office Miladin Kovacevic said an appox. 10 pct decline in population numbers had been registered in all regions of the country except in the Belgrade region, whose population had increased by about 1.6 pct.
